What are you building? |
 |
Once upon a time there was a
building site in the middle of a town. Workers
were laying bricks. Working really hard. A man
who was watching them work, asked one of them:
"What are you doing here?" "I'm
a brick layer" he answered.
Next day the same man came by again. He was
very intrigued with the project and asked another
worker who was also laying bricks.
"What are you doing here?" "I
am a foreman here." the worker answered.
"I am in charge of all the workers on the
front side. I manage 63 people.
On the third day the man asked yet another
worker the same question:
"What are you doing here?" "I'm
building a cathedral!" he exclaimed. "Imagine,
THIS is going to be a cathedral!
We need to ask ourselves…. When we begin
building any business that works...
What is my "cathedral"? Which part
of the team am I?
You need the dreamer, the architect, the foreman,
the construction workers and those who will
use the building when it’s finished.
It is all about building……and
believing that dreams do come true……..with
the help of a team!
Visualize the Cathedral – which part
of the building team are you? Each part is dependent
on the other – no building can be raised
and utilized without the vision and the talents
of everyone. We may each see the building from
a different perspective – but the results
of the vision, makes the building a reality……and
we build it one brick at a time……….
Are you the bricklayer, the foreman,
the architect, or are you one of the parishioners………together
we build and together we benefit from being
part of the vision, regardless of our perspective.
